EATechs’ staff possess a broad range of industry experience and numerous CESB (Council of Engineering Scientific Specialty Board) Accredited certifications, i.e. Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC), Certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE – Former), Certified Microbial Remediator (CMR – Former), Certified Microbial Remediation Supervisor (CMRS), Certified Microbial Claims Adjuster (CMCA), Certified Residential Mold Inspector (CRMI – Former), as well Certified Building Science Thermographer (CBST), and an unrestricted Massachusetts General Contractors license.
Our staff come from various degrees of experience, i.e. general building and construction, advanced mitigation of moisture intrusion and water mapping, fire and smoke restoration. We also train adjusters on how a variety of complex issues which occur as a result of property losses.
As a result of conducting and estimating fire, wind, water, and microbial damage for over 24 year our staff have found that the air quality issues were being overlooked and/or ignored by unaware or untrained adjusters and industry professionals. As a result this can lead to unknown health affects upon those closes to the damage including those who would re-occupy the building(s).
EATechs has been a strong advocate for employee and occupant safety during the cleaning and restoration process. These concerns can not be overlooked (even for monetary concerns).
Mr. Hawley, an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Consultant, has written an article outlining the importance of qualified workers, consultants, and adjusters when working on building suffering losses which involve IAQ related issues. Independent third party accredited designations, i.e. American Council of Accredited Certifications (ACAC) are a must. Understanding issues surrounding communication between building assemblies and spaces are necessary. He further explains how building pathways contribute to contamination migrate (within the immediate location to surrounding locations). Unsuspecting contractors have little to no regard of how these conditions may lead to unnecessary cleaning cost, exposure(s) upon the workers, occupants or contamination of occupant’s personal items (or business assets).
